CLASS REQUIREMENTS GUIDE

Not sure which level of class to participate in? This guide tell you what you will learn in each level. You must master the requirements of each level before moving on to the next.

 

ALL classes require the following:

180" Hand Wraps

Boxing Gloves

Clean (Indoor) Running Shoes

PMA (Positive Mental Attitude)

Willingness to Learn

 

Please Note: Hand wraps and boxing gloves are available for rental and purchase at the gym.

BEGINNER

  • Left Hook
  • Perry (Defend Jab, Right/Left Hook)
  • Execute Slip (Left and Right)
  • Transfers From Defense to Offence (Defend and Strike)
  • Skip for Four Minutes (Consecutive)
  • 40 Pushups (Set of 10)
  • 300 crunches (consecutive)

INTRO

  • Jab
  • Right Cross
  • Stance (Orthodox)
  • Move Forward and Backwards in Stance
  • Move Forward/Backwards and Strike
  • Different Variations or right and Left Combinations
  • Straight Punch (Left and Right)
  • High and Low Punches to the Body

INTERMEDIATE

  • hold pads
  • pivot out (defence and offence)
  • slip, weave and duck to avoid a strike
  • combine several defensive moves together
  • four to six punch combinations
  • skip for five minutes (consecutive)
  • 50 pushups (sets of 10)
  • 500 crunches (consecutive)
  • additional gear: mouth guard, 16oz gloves, head gear
  • switch from defence to offence and offence to defence

ADVANCED

  • advanced combinations of punches (including body to head)
  • sparring (three rounds consecutively)
  • skip for ten minutes (consecutive)
  • 100 pushups (sets of 10)
  • 750 crunches (consecutive)
